Solar Warm Air Panel: Part 1.5

An Eccentric Anomaly: Ed Davies's Blog

A minor update on the solar warm air panel. The weather's not been great, windy with big showers, so I've just managed to slot in odd jobs like staining the wood, screwing it all together and fitting the backing insulation.

The insulation is foil-backed isocyanurate. It's 40 mm which is probably a bit excessive for this application - I wanted 25 mm or so but that's not what the builders' merchants had.

This afternoon I started on cutting the slots in the top for the air to get out but rain stopped play (well, that and my neighbours popping round to give me a few tomato plants).

By the way, the steps under the panel are just a convenient thing with rounded edges to rest it on, not an integral part of the design. Though actually, hmmm....
