Deleting Course Types #

Description #

To delete an existing course type which could be applied to proper accounts.

Conditions #

Write access. Month is open for start-of-month or daily transactions.

Course type is not in use by any account as either its current or most recent membership type.

Usage #

Typically, course type deletion is done in two phases:

The type is marked as not for sale so that it will not be applied to any new accounts.
When no more accounts are left in the system with the account type then it is actually deleted.

Marking as not for sale #

In the main window choose Manager -> Course Type.... In the ensuing Course Type List window, select the course type to be deleted and choose Edit. This displays the Course Type window for this type.

At the bottom of the window, clear the check box for Course type available for sale. This will result in the course type not being included in the Course Type drop-down list of the Course Sale window so no further course sales for the type can be entered.

Delete #

Open the Course Type List window as described above. Select the course type to be deleted and choose Delete.

If the course type is still in use a dialog box will be displayed indicating the first account found with the course type (either as its current membership type or, in the case of accounts with no membership, as its most recent membership type). In this case, the course type will not be deleted.

Assuming the course type is not in use, it will be marked as (to be deleted) (see State Files).
